Thanks Leo. I chose a good week for it as the sun has been shining over here 8)

Great news! I'm really glad you're looking forward to getting hold of these new features.

Not long now...

On some jobs I am doing right now, I REALLY NEED some of those new features. Particularly the new improved 3D roughing cycle. I would upgrade TODAY if I could. I hate to sell my client something that I KNOW could be better tomorrow.

But the actual job won't be any better tomorrow, just take less time to produce which means more profit

I have a client that I helped get a CNC machine from China. I am him tech support. I do all his programming for him.

He has a 3D mermaid for me to program. The current roughing cycle is WELL over a hour. I need to get him something better than that.

The Geneva Convention has rules against torture Vectric.

I'm Googling their phone number as I type.

Just a friendly warning.

Look at the very first video, the one with houses and a ship.

There is a subtle change they haven't mentioned yet.

The current Model Tab lists Components.

The video Model Tab lists Components (Background-.

Hmmmmmmmm! Something new?
Cut the background separate of foreground????
Smaller bits for the foreground?????
Interesting concept.

About this improvement, let me try to highlight some of the 'small print' / T&C stuff here :)

This improvement is related specifically to the 3D raster strategy. While it does shorten the toolpath and improve things quite a bit in terms of not going over areas that've already been cut thus resulting in better machining times, the extent of that can sometimes depend on the shape being cut, as to how much time it saves in practice.

The new strategy can sometimes produce shorter moves where the old strategy would still produce a single continuous large move. We've seen on some shapes, the new and old strategy could produce similar times in practice as the machine has to slow down and speed up more between those shorter moves. Which is why we left it as an option.

Still, you can get even better performance in practice by playing around with the raster angle (which can be set explicitly in V11.0 - as opposed to constraining to X and Y), so it will be generally better for you! So please don't let my little ramble dampen your enthusiasm :D

Looking forward to it, but Glad it was left as an option!!

THANK YOU.

I am an engineer and I love the detail. Keep up the details, I love it. I am sure I understand the options and on my Mermaid, I am sure it will help.

I am sorry I cannot offer the model - I do not own it.

This is without the arm, which is a separate piece
