Moving Component Within Material Block
Moving Component Within Material Block
Noob question here. I have a simple 3d model with a few components. I need to adjust how the individual components sit within the material. I don't want to adjust the shape height or base height, but just move the component as is. I'm sure there is a simple function I am missing, but I can't seem to find it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Moving Component Within Material Block
On the Toolpaths panel, at the top there is a "material setup" section. If you press the "Set" button then you can set "Model Position in Material" either with the slider or by setting gap above or gap below model.

Thanks for the reply. I see how to move the entire model in the material setup, but not just one component. I am trying to change how the components sit in relation to one another on Z.

To my knowledge the only way to adjust a component's height to another is base height.

Re: Moving Component Within Material Block
Anything that will move the component up or down in the block is pretty much exactly the same as changing the base height. Is there a reason why that doesn't work in your design?

Re: Moving Component Within Material Block
You could put them on separate levels and add a block to raise a component, but that is the same as adjusting the base height.
Plus it is more work and you clutter up your component tree.

Re: Moving Component Within Material Block
It is a two-sided project and I am trying to maintain the thickness I currently have and just move the single component a smidge higher up in the material while leaving the other components where they are.
