Problem Copying to another level

Post by WoodsmanL56 »

Hello all,

I'm working on creating a new sign for my shop, and I'm using Aspire. I've been trying to create a level for all the elements that I'm going to be using in the design, which is a wavy flag with my Multi Level Logo, V-Carved Text, and the flag will be trimmed to fit within the shape of the USA.

When I try to copy a selected element to a new level, it will along with everything else from the other level, even though they were not selected? I can delete those elements in the newest level, but when I switch back to the previous level, those elements are no longer there?

The purpose behind the Copy Function in to copy and not delete the original. What is it that I'm doing wrong?

Its making it very difficult to complete a project if the files won't be stored for later use?

Mike

Please post the file if it is not a copyright issue.

What version of the software do you have.

It sounds like to me that you did a Move to layer instead of Copy to layer.

They are right next to each other and I have done this before myself.

"Level" is found on the component tree. Is this what is implied or is it layer as ohiolyons mentioned?

Wow didn’t see level. Is the level visible? Is the layer visible?

Thanks for the replies everyone. Sorry for the delay in getting back, I've been swamped with so many other things lately I haven't even been in my shop. I do have all of my updates current, and I'm thinking that my impatient's may have been the issue? I don't think I was allowing the Aspire Software/PC to fully process the current copy to action, before moving on to another action? its working fine since I've caught onto this.

However I'm having another issue now which I'll explain in a new post, as not to mix the 2 issues.

Thanks Again

We are all "stabbing in the dark" here unless we can see your file.
