I hadn't actually thought about the depth of thread so shows just how long it's been since I have actually cut any other than by using the thread tool in the software & since I am cutting both male & female in wood then it hasn't mattered, cut enough of them on a lathe over the years when in the RN :lol: :lol:

As for thinking TATH would ignore the vcarve calculations I doubt that would have happened, he said somewhere in the post that he was a new user & looking for help so what is obvious to you is probably not so obvious to him :lol: :lol: :lol:
Sure he would have come back & asked why his threads weren't mating up properly thouigh
