please please please add an undo history form

Post by petergmartin »

Hi :)

I make a lot of mistakes and I use the undo feature alot.

How hard would it be for you guys (and gals) at Vectric to add an "Undo History" function, (eg. similar to Inkscape)
Screenshot 2021-05-01 153715.jpg

which would greatly assist those times when someone has done a whole heap of nudges and other moving of things around then has to carefully do 50 or more undo's to get back to where they were before.

Having this feature would be very beneficial.

thanks
Peter

Incremental saves work better.

That's what I do. I save as "v2", "v3" etc, especially before I start making changes that could end badly :D Many times I also add a note to the file name as a makeshift change log, like "v5 raised model height". If I wasn't so lazy, I would use a Word document as a real change log. That would make it easier to revert to previous versions, or pick up old objects or vectors that I have accidentally changed or deleted and so on.

Incremental save is built into the software. If you press Ctrl-Alt-S it will do an incremental save for you. You can also choose it from the File menu.

I also created a couple of gadgets (before the functionality was added to the main software) that do incremental saves in a slightly different way. You can add those to the Gadgets shortcuts for quick access. I have Ctrl-F1 setup for the Save Copy 2 gadget.
