Ever since upgrading my copy of Aspire to 10.5+ the preview drawing mode is slower than normal. I reset my modeling resolution to High (From VERY high) and haven't changed my hardware. Something else I should be trying?
Thank you

Re: Slow Preview
You need to check your preview simulation quality, see attached. It will really slow down the preview if set high.

Re: Slow Preview
As has been said it's not your modeling resolution you need to change but the toolpath preview resolution, you will find that under the toolpath tab at the top of the screen

Re: Slow Preview
Not germane to "slow preview" but: unless you are using some sort of 3D model (clip-art, STL file, etc.) there's no real benefit to setting modelling resolution to anything else but "Standard (fastest)".

Fixed. Done. That was the ticket. Don't know how I've been using the software for 15+ years and missed that one - or recently must have changed. It. Thanks all!

Re: Slow Preview
So, "Modeling Resolution" and "preview simulation quality" are different things? If I set "Preview" to standard and "Modeling" to High will I get a quality cut but a so-so preview? (I did a test cut and that is what seemed to be the case.)

Re: Slow Preview
Yes. Modelling resolution and toolpath preview resolution are two totally different things. The modelling resolution will have zero effect on the quality of a 2D toolpath for example.slowoodworker wrote: ↑Fri Jul 09, 2021 1:17 amSo, "Modeling Resolution" and "preview simulation quality" are different things? One important thing to realise is that the modelling resolution used when creating a job will actually change the way the model cuts in real life (3d toolpaths) whereas the preview resolution for any toolpath only applies to the preview it has zero effect in the real world.

Perhaps a few images might help:slowoodworker wrote: ↑Fri Jul 09, 2021 1:17 amSo, "Modeling Resolution" and "preview simulation quality" are different things?
- first image shows three spheres at progressively higher modelling resolution
- second image shows very high preview resolution
- third image shows very low preview resolution
