Pocket help

All a would like to pocket this so the K is proud of the boarder and the other letters are proud of the background . I am stuck. any help would be great.

two ways that you could do this, firstly with the letters inlaid which might help make painting easier if you intend to paint it as per the drawing. or you could actually machine it as you normally would from one piece & just inlay the K.
another way might be to start with a material thickness greater than your finish thickness to allow you to machine some of the border so the K stands proud.

You will need to draw some aditional vectors to machine the border down to what ever size the K needs to stand proud.

This really is just a variant on the so-called "stacked text" technique but "maki" being stack on the border and not other text.

You might want to view the Vectric video on the subject.

K is proud of the boarder
My thought is that the loop of the k and presumably (although not specifically mentioned) the rest of the the maki are also higher than the border—à la stacked text. i.e. black all one level; red higher than that….

I thought about that but if any anything is proud of the border then everything else has to be carved away.
