Sorting/rearranging layers

Is there a way to sort or rearrange layers? I would like to be able to group the layers in the order of the parts of the project.

If you open the layer tab, there are arrows at the top that allow you to move items up and down on the list. Just click on the layer name and then on the arrow buttons to move.

I wonder if in a future version we would be able to group layers in the same way we can now group tool paths and models? This would be great to help with organizing work.
