Use 3D tool path on jpg.
I am trying to cut the mountain part of the attached png with a 3D tool path versus something like V-Carve tool path. V-Carve only cuts two levels. I am looking for a 3D mountain. How do I do that? I also have the file in a jpg but neither work.

Re: Use 3D tool path on jpg.
I imported the image.
Used Trace Bitmap, set Type of Tracing to Use to Color and selected only the Black colors, after reviewing to make sure I had the Black desired, click Apply
Under Modeling Tab, click Create a shape from vectors outline, select the created vectors.
Used Shape Profile Smooth Profile, set Angle to 60, set Final Height to Scale to Exact Height and set the height to .1 and click Apply.
You can play around with the Shape Profile setting including the Tilt option to add an extra dimension to the Component.
You can also improve the Component using the Sculpting Tools.

Re: Use 3D tool path on jpg.
The reason you can't get the 3D toolpaths to work is because you are working with a 2D image not a 3D model, the reason John is able to do it is because he has taken the 2D image & turned it into a 3D component
If you want to be able to turn 2D images into 3D then you will need to learn how to use the modeling tools within Aspire, lots of tutorials to help but it is a learning process & may take some time to get the hang of, there isn't a click this button option so the software does it for you
