Random scalloped edge cut
I am looking at cutting a rustic flag and I am looking for a toolpath that would v-carve or tapered ball nose a random scallop like cut along the edge and strip vectors. Help please.
Thank You
Frank

Re: Random scalloped edge cut
I watchEd those videos that’s great but I would rather not get into modeling I just would like to take something like a V bit and have it change Z-and move left to right randomly so it would just make like a edge of a board that was hit or wore out.I was hoping they’d be something like the texturing tool to do that.
Thank You

Something like this is easy to do using the Vector Texture tool...

Re: Random scalloped edge cut
Create a Vector Texture you like (this will take some playing around with the setting).
Once you are happy with the preview create the texture and ungroup the vectors.
All you're interested in is 8 of the vectors. Pick 8 vectors and delete the rest or copy the selected 8 vectors to another layer.
Move the selected vectors around the perimeter of the material to create a frame.
Now using the V-Carve Toolpath and Profile Toolpath create the edge and cut it out.
To create the cut out Toolpath use the inside vector and play around with the Allowance Offset to move the cut where you'd like.

Re: Random scalloped edge cut
Here's another idea.
Do a Google search for images, I chose to look for a torn paper edge. Import the image use Trace Bitmap to create the vectors and use them to create the frame.
