Measure ability on Preview Toolpaths?

Post by usmc_arty »

Wondering if it is possible to perform a measure on the Preview Toolpath view?

My use case is just to make sure that I am creating tool paths correct before committing to sawdust. This would catch things like profile cutting on the line verse inside/outside, offsets that shouldn't be there, etc

Attempting to conform to the old adage, "Measure once, cut twice" or the better version, "Measure once, curse twice"

Thanks,
Steve

Probably the simplest way to do this is to convert the preview into a model using the Model->Create Model from 3D Component tool.
Then you can use the measure tool. A particular usefult thing here is to use the cross sections generation option from within the measure tool.

Cheers,
Adam

A good way of catching inside/outside mixups is to switch the 2D preview from wireframe to solid. Any issues with where the cut is (or is not) going show up very clearly then.
