Re: 10.5 is COMING SOON - Watch this space
Just curious, are there any future plans for a Mac version of the Vectric products? I run my Aspire on a Mac under the Parallels VM.
Now that Apple is moving away from the Intel chip sets it seems that the VM support will go away. I would LOVE a Mac version of the simply wonderful Aspire product!

How is that going to get better when everyone runs after Microsoft like the lemmings?Macs are only 10% of personal computer users.
The collection of user data cannot be stopped in this way.
Would there be more manufacturers who would program across platforms.
Would stop dependency on Microsoft. I'm not talking about free software here.
The manufacturers have to be paid for their work.
The operating system was really good up to Windows 7.
Now that there are no updates since January of this year,
it runs in a virtual machine (VMware Workstation ) for me on Linux.
I am very happy with this solution because I can continue to use all my software
such as Aspire and various other CAM and CAD programs. All without Cortana,
Edge, and all the trackers from Microsoft and Co.
Of course, that is a little more work. I have to do all updates manually.
My Windows is not authorized for the Internet.
And no, I don't wear an aluminum hat.
This is only my opinion

I likewise run at times on a Mac using VMWare Fusion (and am a deep techie) - virtualization is not going away, no worries. Apple has already indicated that:Holzarbeiter wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 9:36 pmJust curious, are there any future plans for a Mac version of the Vectric products? Fantastic! I'm tired of writing custom gcode for threading. (I believe that I mentioned in another post that I had modified the VCarve post to handle tension/compression tapping heads.) Are there any changes to add HSM toolpaths and better handling of pocketing?

I don't want to start a war here but I would rather see a company concentrate their resources on one platform and make software as best as possible for that platform. Trying to split their resources to a 90-10% market doesn't make much sense to me. Windows or Apple doesn't make much difference to me either and one isn't any better than the other. Just different.

Thanks!I read that just this morning and while it makes me breath a bit easier Im still cautious. Worst case scenario I can always use my current Mac for just running Aspire if need be. Sorry for "stirring the pot"...twas just an honest question for Vectric.ctbjdm wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 10:56 pmI likewise run at times on a Mac using VMWare Fusion (and am a deep techie) - virtualization is not going away, no worries. We may be only 10% of the population but giants like Microsoft make their product available to us....go figure.

Very cool... Now I can mess up stuff even faster...
Will Ctrl-Z undo the entire last 'mouse click and drag snip', or like when you move with cursor keys? With the cursor keys each 'step' is undone, not the entire keypress duration.
