error message in 10.021

Post by ohiolyons »

Just started seeing this message when I start Aspire 10.021, Win 10 Pro.

It doesn't happen every time I start Aspire, doesn't happen on any other program. Nothing is CRASH folder.

Thought I'd see if anyone here has seen this before I report to Vectric.

there is no c:\temp

I found c:\windows\temp and it only had 1.9 MB in it.

So if it was a space issue wouldn't it give me this warning every time? It is running about 50% of time.

Might be worth checking the disk for errors in case it's a file table issue.

How old is it? SSD's have a life span. There is only so many times they can be written to. You can check it with one of the many SSD health programs, I use the Sandisk SSD Dashboard as that's the make of my three.

They can still get corrupted file tables etc as well like a normal hard disk.

Did a scan disk and it found some errors and fixed them.

Started and stopped Aspire 6 times without error message. This week I would have gotten 2-3 error messages.

Looks like that solve the problem.

I've had the same error message happening this past week for other programs too. I asked my friend Mr. Google, and got this reply:

I tried it, no error message...yet.

If you're getting errors on an SSD, then it's most probably dying. For now, do scans at least daily. If any more errors, get a new SSD.

I'm getting the same error as well. Plenty of free space (667GB).
No errors on the drive
C:\temp\ exists and is empty

Hi All,

We've rolled back the patch for now while we take a look at this one. In the meantime, if you need it we've also put 10.019 back in place do download from your V&Co account: (https://portal.vectric.com). We hope to have this sorted with a new patch as soon as possible.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
