Are we still limited to 2MB files sizes?
Hi highpockets.

We have increased the maximum file size limit to 6MB. Use it wisely :D

Thanks
Stephanie

Yep,, Im 70 also.
And I also have the floaters.
But with the other people saying pretty much the same thing, I can't be too far off the mark. (if I could see the mark)
No, I don't want neon lettering.
Just a bit more contrast.

I run my monitors at 1920x1080. There seems to be a lot of empty space on the left and right.

Compare the Vectric forum to the ShopBot forum regarding screen layout.

I agree with the OLD EYES syndrome. Bolder, and a different color would help me too.

Thank you for the improvements. Glad we have a company that does make true improvements.

I would counter with: there seems to be a lot of empty space in the centre of the Shopbot forum page. :)

1) Agree with adze_cnc

2) As an ol fart, agree with Leo. What millennial focus group picked the colors? It sure wasn't the 55+ group that seems to be the major portion of the US user group.

This is starting to remind me of the conversation that takes place every morning around 9 AM down at the local Waffle House.

I guess I am not seeing what other folks are seeing? Or maybe I am seeing what they are not? Here is a screen shot of my screen as I type:
Capture.JPG
Running 1920X1080.

The zoom in the browser is set to 110%, so the side margins get a bit bigger at 100%.

To me, what I am seeing on the screen looks like what is on a type written page with the exception of the font being a bit bigger than normally seen on a typed page. Nothing looks washed out here or is difficult to read.

One other thing I like that I discovered when I attached the pic is that it is easier now. None of this picking a file, uploading it, then placing it inline. It uploads it immediately now so that is a step we no longer have to do.

My advice is that if your page looks really narrow and the type is small try adjusting the settings in your browser. I use Chrome, when I set it to 125% the page fills the screen right to left. So those margins are more a part of your browser settings than the forum. Just did some checking, Chrome sets the zoom scale on a per website basis evidently. So if I have this forum at 125% I can set another site to some other zoom factor and it remembers which is which. Did not realize that until now, thought the zoom controlled every site no matter what.

I really like the new way of viewing multiple pictures in a post, great improvement....
I like this feature, too. However, it doesn’t work on my iPhone 6s - cannot swipe to next photo - I still have to go back to select each photo to view full size.

No problem on my desktops and laptops - can use the arrow keys to go to next and previous photos like a slideshow.

I agree the readability of the new layout is not as good as the old. I ran the foreground and background colours for posts (both white background and off-grey ones) through: https://webaim.org/resources/contrastchecker/ a contrast checker. They do register 5.xx to 1 which is above the recommended minimum of 4.50 to 1.

Having said that there is room for great improvement. The base foreground colour in the file base.css file (#333333), which gets over-ridden by a value (#535353) in the colours.css file, has a contrast score of 20.29 to 1 on the grey background and 21.1 to 1 on the white background.

My suggestion would be for the Vectric folk to use the base #333333 instead of the #535353. My other suggestion would be to use Verdana instead of Arial as the default typeface as Verdana has a greater x-height which improves readability.

I am older as well (67). I would prefer more of a contrast as well. My sincere thanks to the Vectric staff for this forum. And to all of the folks that help others by answering questions.

The forum appears bright white on my monitors which is a little painful to look at. Would also prefer a different color option for the background. I like the other changes, but the white is jarring.

I don't have readability issues with the new forum and my eyes aren't exactly the best. Was having issues uploading pics, that changed a bit but I figured it out. All in all will just take a little while to get used to, change rarely ever comes easy.

Long ago I stopped receiving notifications of thread replies all of the sudden, don't know why as nothing changed figured it must be an ISP issue, now I am receiving notifications for the first time in over a year so something must have been reset or something.
