I like the wide outside space because my eyes don't have to travel so far on a wide screen monitor to read the text. Like others have mentioned, the white background seems a bit harsh. All other improvements are great!

Add me to the "too bright & hard to read" group. Other than that, the other changes seem to be good.

Any way you can increase the time period you are allowed to edit your own post? Especially necessary while we get used to the new features.

I like it. I find mine easy to read, I am wondering if it is not a individual computer problem with the settings.

I like it too! Easier to read - and I’m an old guy too....

Frankly, when I joined this forum 15 months ago I was actually shocked and disappointed by the forum software look and feel... so outdated and dull! I got used to it of course after a while... but this is a refreshing and modern change for the better!

Well done Vectric!

Can you please include as before " ViewRecent Posts"

It's a nightmare to go through the new format to find these.

Thank you

I agree with others, that the stark white/grey colouring is uninspiring. Even the Vectric logo at the top of the page is a dull grey.
I also use a 17" laptop and don't like the "squashed in the middle" look of the page.
Is there a "View new Topics" button somewhere?

First, thanks for keeping things updated. Second, glad to know you guys were “fixing” things and it wasn’t me or my iPad. Which I first thought when I got online on the forum. :( Second, change is always something that takes time to adjust to so, I am trying to reserve my judgment and give it some time to see if I adapt BUT that said, my initial thought is that I am with the many so far who are not a fan of the stark white background without any breakup. However, I am willing to give it a go and see if I can adapt. :) if not, I will try with my shades. 8) Not sure if it is possible, but I have been on so,e forums where users could adjust and use different setups on their computer/phone/iPad, etc. for what worked for them as far as contrast, coloring choices. That would be ideal but understand that may not be possible, just wanted to give my “vote” on my initial reaction to the coloring (or lack thereof) in case you were tallying votes. :?

The white background is not pleasing to me. Love the forum.

Way too difficult to read. Background to bright, lettering too thin.

Normal routine is make espresso/turn BBC on/ open Vectric Forum and Gradually wake up while perusing what people are doing...at 3:30 am....had to leave Forum as too bright :( :(
LIKE the new way of being able to view people's pics.
Once I found out how to view in Active topics(which teaches me more)...that is better.
Tweaked Firefox background and fonts and Ctrl+ yesterday to almost comfortable.
BUT need to put polarized sunglasses NEAR monitor! :(

White reminds me of skiing without sunglasses or tinted goggles...OR staring out at snow and ice on pond on a bright winter afternoon.....a quick glance is all you can do.
There's my rant.....HOPING my brain adapts to it!
Brain never did adapt to Bright White LED work strips....so virtually never used, and will give away.

I've learned my lesson well. You can't please everyone,so you have to please yourself

well, its different.
my issue is i am in the backwoods, and it takes so long to load the thumbnails.
they look nice, but it slows down for someone with low bandwidth.
woodmizer sawmill and joe's hybrid cnc, a good combination

I'm surprised that so many are having issues with the colour choice. It's the same basic pallete as most mainstream sites. Using it on my phone for the first time today and it's very clear and sharp.
