I've successfully modelled a couple of double-sided 3D spoons with Aspire. A great learning experience.
Now I'm trying to tackle another problem. A double sided project with an angular component. A basic shape would be a spatula with a flat handle and the scraper blade at about a 10-15 degree angle. There are lots of way of solving a problem in Aspire... and I guess that's what is confusing me. The more videos I watch, the more confused I get. Point me in the right direction. Do I extrude, 2 rail sweep, or ?? Same type of problem would be putting an angled handle on a mallet head. I would think that is a cube and a handle. Create each part, rotate the handle, then push the two parts together. How do you rotate a part in Aspire.
tnx,
Gerry

Hi Gerry,
Maybe this video tutorial of an angled guitar neck could help with your two-sided spatula design. Same principle.

Excellent... Thanks Michael. Great video. I also picked up a lot of the practical applications of the two rail sweep.

Great job, Gerry! You are quick!
Sean’s guitar neck tutorial video is one of my top favorites. It is a fantastic example of how Aspire’s two-sided modeling and the “unexpected” purpose of Negative Merge are used in a surprisingly powerful (yet simple) way.
Guitar builders can rejoice that Sean has taken the “mystery” out of creating components like this.
