Is it possible to invert a model?

Post by scubanimal »

Happy new year all,
I have a model that is typical and carves well. What I'm trying to do now is create a mold (inverse ) of the model. So what is now the shallowest Z would become the deepest Z.
Then a casting can be made.
If I were able to reverse the Z axis I would think that would do it.

Any ideas?

Thank you,
Ian

Hi Ian,

Invert by making the model “Subtractive Merge” and also add a Zero Plane to make sure the edge perimeter is nice and smooth at the top of the material.

You’re welcome, Ian.

If you get a chance, show us a photo or two of your casting when finished.
