Box Creator gadget

Post by MikeUSNRet »

I have been attempting to create a simple 4 sided box without a lid that is 5" square in 1/2" ply. Using a .125 endmill yet each time I have cut one out not a single one of the box joints will fit as pins are all being cut over-sized and 100% of them needs to be trimmed down on my bandsaw. Qute a bit more post processing than I really care to deal with. If it was just happening in one direction, I could understand I might have a particular issue with that axis, but this is happening in both x and y.

Could be bit deflection if you're cutting too deep/pushing too hard perhaps? I wouldn't think it's anything wrong with the gadget as I haven't seen any other posts about it behaving like that and there are a few people using it on the forum. There is an allowance setting that you can use to tweak the fit.

Try cutting in the conventional direction instead of climb
