paint fill

Post by lavon »

Looking for a paint fill solution.
I have seen somewhere a small motor that pumps paint thru a clear tube to a clear cylindical container that has a fine hollow needle on the end that pumps the paint into the v grooves.
Looks almost like a hypodermic needle. No Muss no fuss with wiping away the paint on the surfaces around the v grooves.
I have contacted a couple of vendors but they only have devices to pump glue.

You can get general purpose dispensers like this one: https://www.dispensinglink.com/dispense ... gJ0AvD_BwE
If you really want to trick it out you could mount it onto your CNC machine and have it automatically dispense when a z-height switch is triggered.

You could also try ink syringes, depends how thick the paint your using is but jnk syringes have a reasonable size hole in the needle & they are available in different sizes

Here is a link for Leur Lock Syringes and needles.
You might try 2 to 3 different needle sizes (these are blunted needles, not medical types) and see which work best for your projects.

After adding paint by hand and stressing out your hands you might consider one of their pumps. The smallest, cheapest type will work wonders over filling and using a syringe by hand. These are usually 110V.

Just keep your air pressure low and learn how to let up BEFORE you really end a fill as the air pressure will still push out some paint. ALSO, learn how to tip up the syringe/needle BEFORE you move too far away from the fill area.

Seems like a small Peristaltic Pump would do the job.
they range from $10 - $$$holy cow.
Toss in a small aquarium screw valve in the paint line before the needle and you should have a pretty good system.

Depending how small of an end you need, a monoject syringe is probably your best bet. The syringe tip is tapered, so your paint will go through it easier than a long, straight, steel needle.

Your dentist probably has a bunch, and they are less than $1 each.
