file transfer

Post by dan nelson »

All, I have a client that im doing design work for that has the latest version of VCP. I am running Aspire 4.5. I Emailed him the CRV3 file for him to preview before I tool pathed for him to walk thru it. He says he cannot open the file. What is the best way to solve this? This is not a 3dfile. Thanks in advance Dan

When you save the file from Aspire you'll have the option to save it as a VCarve file that he will be able to open. When the Save As dialog comes up click on the Save as type dropdown.

I would save it as a .CRV file as Adrian has suggested, you will get a warning that anything not compatible with vcarve will not be saved. One thing I have found is that even though vcarve is now capable of toolpathing 3d models these are still removed from the file when it's saved. If your file doesn't contain any 3d components then it should be OK

I am not so sure that Aspire 4.5 has the option to save as a .crv file. I thought that was added in a later version of Aspire.

Saving files in CRV format is supported in version 4.5 of Aspire.
As Adrian and martin have mentioned, this should work fine for you Joe.

Cheers,

Mark.
