Are you trying to draw vector boundaries around parts of the model to create separate machining areas? Aspire V8.5 is certainly able to do that.

I am not really sure what you are trying to do?

Yes, You can draw vectors and split the component apart into separate components so that they can be rearranged as needed.

I know about clearing inside and outside a vector and LOVE ASPIRE... But I was wanting to ( More easily, get the grapes as individual balls? or all of it by tracing or some other function I am not aware of...) Software is so powerful you guys know and there's always a better way.

I REALLY APPRECIATE ALL OF YOUR INPUTS ON THIS MATTER, Brian

There is a third tool that does what you want.

Brian, draw a vector around what you want to separate and use the "Split the selected component using a vector". That's what the other posts were pointing you to. It's not the clear inside/out function, I'm not sure where you got that from.

If you have Aspire, then why do you want to split individual grapes? Why not create your own?

There is a video tutorial named “Grape Bunch” that was released during 2008 where the process of creating the grape bunch is explained step by step.

Here are some “screen shots” from the video that might be helpful.
