I have a small part, 2" diameter that I am designing. I am trying to figure out how to print it to scale to compare it to a physical part. Is this even possible.
Thanks

Re: printing to scale
If you have drawn a part that is 2" and print using 100% size instaed of leaving it to its own devices it should come out right....

Re: printing to scale
Some programs will give me that option to print actual size or a percentage, but this doesn't . It will print different sizes based on the view on the screen. If you zoom out its very small. Zoom in to full screen its larger. But not able to control the size. Very weird.

Re: printing to scale
The print is not to scale and is not intended to be. You can export vectors and import into a CAD package if you need to print to scale.

Re: printing to scale
I do not quite understanding Adrian's comment to export to another program, although i bow to his expertise over mine with these programs, but i drew a circle 50mm in VC 8.5 and printed it 100% and it was exactly 50mm.

Re: printing to scale
I thought I would have to export it to another program. Just making sure there was a way and I was missing it. I was hoping not to have to learn or get a different program.
As always thanks for the help.

Export as a PDF. Adobe programs will print to scale, and even tile if the drawing is larger than your printer paper.

How did you print it?BernieNUFC wrote: ↑Wed Nov 09, 2016 7:46 pmI do not quite understanding Adrian's comment to export to another program, although i bow to his expertise over mine with these programs, but i drew a circle 50mm in VC 8.5 and printed it 100% and it was exactly 50mm.
Other than the PDF and export to CAD methods already mentioned there isn't a way to print vectors to scale directly from Vectric software.
I just created a 3.6 vector and printed it and it was not even close to 3.6". Yes I had actual size selected.

Not sure why it's been revived again but this thread is over 5 years old now.

Re: printing to scale
This thread was referenced in another post. It did not include the exporting as a PDF method, so I added it.
