Cleanup Profile Toolpath

Post by morbious »

Hello

Just finished machining a sign in aspire. The sign has some text on an inverted dome. The finish toolpath strategy was an offset, starting in the center and spiraling out with a .125 bit using a 10% step-over. There are numerous vertical tool marks on the inside and outside of the letters and on all the component edges. Is there any way to create a profile toolpath around the letters and all the component edges, that follows the contours of the model at full depth?

Hi Mark,
As I understand you have text (raised text?) and component modeling in a dish (inverted dome) and you want to run a profile around the outline of the letters and model? Did you try to create a vector boundary around the components and letters and use the option to project the profile toolpath onto the model, which would be the dish?
