Movement

Post by sylvan356 »

I cannot seem to find the answer to this question. When I use the "move" command to move an object I can move it with the arrow keys. I also know that holding the control keys moves the object consider less. The question is how much does each {arrow} and {control arrow} actually move the object? Thanks for the help!

Sylvan,

Press the F4 button. You will see a menu item to move by an exact specified amount you choose (called "Fixed Nudge Distance"). Moving with the arrow keys only will move at different (unknown) amounts relative to the zoom level.

The shortcut key combo is Ctrl+Shift+arrow key to move at your fixed distance

Arrow key on its own = standard nudge based on zoom level

Ctrl + Arrow key = small nudge based on zoom level

Shift + Arrow key = large nudge based on zoom level

Ctrl + Shift + Arrow Key = nudge by amount entered for "Fixed Nudge Distance" regardless of zoom level

Note to Vectric help manual team:

The Fixed Nudge Distance Ctrl+Shift+arrow key combo is noted in the pdf Help Manual on page 130. However, that particular key combo has NOT been added to the Keyboard Shortcut Chart (on page 340) of the Help Manual.
