Cnc not recognizing Aspire file

Post by Joseph »

New Aspire user here. First project I tried Aspire shows the file as being saved, but when I try to open it using MACH 2/3 It will not open. It shows a dark square that I assume is the size of the wood and the line for the Datum. Probably operator error, but have anyone else experience this, and how was the problem resolved? Thanks

You cannot load an aspire file into the CNC machine.

You need to save the toolpath through a post processor.

There should be a tutorial on that.

Are you sure you used a Mach3 post?

Are you inches or mm?

Is the Aspire file and the post in mm or in?

I checked both and they are in inches. Thinking I may have a programming problem within Aspire

Vcarve and Aspire are identical as far as that side of things goes. Make sure you're using the same PP in both and you should get the same results.

I had a similiar problem where it wasn't reconizing an aspire file for my shopbot. I could open it up with the shopbot editor and it would show the file but it wouldn't reconize it. My brother, who use to fix computers in the days they fixed them, thought maybe it could be a program problem where I was running xp in the shop and windows 7 with my programming and also that my computer in the shop wasn't hooked up to the internet and so I wasn't getting updates for it as I was for my programming computer. I switched my work computer to windows 7 and manually put in the updates about once a month and it is now running pretty good.
