Rabbiting around the edge of a rectangle
I know there must be an easy way to accomplish this but can someone tell me the best way to create a rabbit completely around a rectangular piece of wood?

Re: Rabbiting around the edge of a rectangle
Lots of variations depending on whether you have a tool that can do it one or whether you need multiple horizontal passes.
If the tool is wide enough then use an outside profile toolpath with a vector that is inset from the edge of the material by the size of the rabbet.
If the isn't wide enough then use a pocket toolpath. The outside vector of the pocket needs to be larger than the material by enough that you don't get "islands" left by the round shape of the tool in the outside corners.

Adrian,
Seven years later & your tip is still helping out! I've been racking my brain trying to figure this out for the last couple of days.
Thank You.
