Aspire V4.5 Released!

We are very pleased to announce the release of Aspire V4.5.

This is a free upgrade for all existing owners of Aspire 4.0. To see what is new in version 4.5 please visit the What’s New page here http://www.vectric.com/products/aspire/ ... rview.html

The new version includes enhancements across all areas of the products, a summary of which you can see by visiting the page links above, there is also a PDF download document which covers “What’s New” in more detail. We should have a summary video covering the new options on these pages within the next week.

VCarve Pro V7.5 should be released later this week.

The update is being distributed as a ‘patch’ program which will update your existing V4.0 install to V4.5. After the patch has successfully run, clicking on your existing Aspire link will start Aspire 4.5 instead of 4.0.

The procedure for getting the patch will depend on whether you have your Aspire computer connected to the internet or not.

Aspire Computer Connected to the Internet

If you do 'Help - Check for Updates' as shown in the screen shot below you should be told there is a later version available.

The attached PDF file (UpdatingAspire.pdf) shows the steps in more detail.


Aspire Computer NOT Connected to the Internet

You will need to download the patch from our web site, copy it to your Aspire computer and run it.

NOTE: After release, a problem was identified with 3D finish machining in some cases. We have updated the release from 4.508 to 4.509 and updated the patch. If anyone updated before the 24th March, please do a 'Help - Check for Updates' again or re-download the patch (Aspire_patch_to_v4509.exe from the support page).

Hi Paul,

I thought you might like the SketchUp import. The error message implies that you don't have a complete Aspire V4.0 install on the computer or possibly some access permission problem. If you run Aspire 4 and use the 'File - Open Application Data Folder ...' command does it open C:\ProgramData\Vectric\Aspire\V4.0 ? You could try manually copying this folder to

C:\ProgramData\Vectric\Aspire\V4.5

and re-running the patch.

Thank you for the response..... Where else would the MD of software company respond to a problem within 1/2 an hour.....VECTRIC !!!!!

I did not have the C:\ProgramData\Vectric\Aspire\V4.5 folder so I created one, the patch seemed to install but when I started V4.5 I got the following message, I think I have made things worse. ??

Hi Barbara,

After you complete the upgrade, open Aspire and goto File>Open Application Data Folder and there will be a shortcut there to the updated Reference Manual.

Hi Paul,

Creating one won't get you what you need, you need the contents from the Aspire 4.0 folder as it has the PostP's etc which aren't in the patch (as well as bitmap textures and other things). Did you have the C:\ProgramData\Vectric\Aspire\V4.0 folder? renaming or copying this to the 4.5 folder should get you going. If you don't have this, you will need to install V4.0 again and run the patch again.
