Zoom Control of 3D image

Post by Mike Kelly »

When designing a 3D part, how can you zoom in to any area of the 3d toolpath image? I would like to look at the extremities of a part without rotating them to see the details of roughing/finishing/profile cutouts.

If you've got a mouse with a wheel you can click and hold down the mouse wheel to pan to the area and then zoom in/out with the wheel.

Without a wheel hold both mouse buttons to pan (also holding either button with the Ctrl key works) and then hold the right mouse button on it's own and move the mouse to zoom.

Thanks. I never pushed both right and left at the same time. Works great. My wheel in either mode just zooms. It's a Logitech Anywhere MX. If I looked at the mouse user guide it can probably be programmed, but this will work just fine. Thank you.

Sorry I didn't make that very clear with the panning bit. Click and hold down the mouse wheel and move the mouse to pan. If you hold down and scroll the wheel it will only zoom.

I have neither mouse buttons (well, not precisely, anyway) nor a scroll wheel. No wonder I couldn't figure out a way! I'll try my mouse button equivalents and see (though that is a two hand operation)

This situation occurs when you have a mac with a trackpad...

Holding this mouse wheel down and moving mouse doesn't work. It has a 4 position wheel, right, left and 2 wheel modes. Click zoom and wheel zoom. It can probably be programmed to work, but this is close enough for me! Thanks again.
