Vectric Love Spoon (with free files)

Post by JamesB »

As promised at Jim McGrew's Aspire camp (and mentioned in this months newsletter), I now have the Love Spoon files ready for download. If you follow this link http://vectriclabs.blogspot.co.uk/2014/ ... spoon.html you can see go to the Love Spoon entry, read the overview, download the Aspire 4 files for each side of the spoon and also read my Rough Guide to cutting your own version. I hope some people try this and post their results here.

Cheers,
James

PS - A good group of Vectricians are going to the Maker Faire tomorrow and over the next few months I expect some of the projects we'll be cutting there will also end up on the blog too.

Thank you James,

This is the only way that mere mortals like me (with the design capability of a Neanderthal) can actually produce something worthwhile. Also thanks to Tim for the testing and help.

Yep, that's the page I get when I click on the picture of the spoon.

Wonder why WoodEraser is having an issue? Possibly a browser thing.

Strange. Works fine for me in Chrome, Firefox and Opera. IE doesn't display the actual buttons but there are outlines where they go.

Direct link to the project files is http://vectric.org/labs/images/stories/ ... -Files.zip

Direct link to the instructions is http://vectric.org/labs/images/stories/ ... -guide.pdf

Thanks Adrian.
Dave, my screen looked like Chrome while I'm using Firefox.
No outline or boxes below picture. But when I move curser to area where links are I do get curser to change to hand.
Thanks everyone.

Sorry about the problems with the page/buttons. It may be Monday before we can make it 100% browser proof as we're travelling and Stuart has a couple of days off. Certainly chrome was ok for me when we set up the test page!

Until then hopefully Adrian's links will help.
Thanks
James

Hi folks,

Refreshing the browser page 'should' fix this, it may be a blip whilst loading the pages style sheet. If not please try clearing the browser cache then refresh the page.

Let me know if this doesn't work and I will see what I can do.

Cheers,

Hi!
You have to be careful here. Although the folks at vectric have posted the Aspire files, that does not give anyone else the right to distribute the content in any way, such as csv format. It may seems like an odd distinction to make, but they since they created the content, they control its distribution. Copyright protects everybody's interests.

Actually, Vectric puts it even clearer on the first page of the documentation for this project

Terms of Use: This Project and artwork is provided on the understanding that it will only be used with Vectric software programs. You may use the
designs to carve parts for yourself, as gifts or even for sale but the actual Files and/or Vectors, Components or Toolpaths within them (or any derivatives) may not be converted to other formats, sold, or shared with anyone else.

Cheers!
