Marine Corp Emblem 3D

Post by Les_linton »

Hey guys... and gals,

A very good friend, retired Marine, has asked me to make a pair of display boxes for his two swords. I would like to do this for him as a gift, but I'm sure that the fiber of this gentelman will not allow it. So, while he is asking for a simple "box", if I can find it, I would love to put a 3D carving on both ends of the boxes of the U.S. Marine Corps emblem The globe, eagle and anchor.

I have yet to see the swords, but I am guessing that the end pieces would be about 6" wide x 8" tall.

I am going to post this on both the Vectric and ShopBot forums, and am hoping that someone can help be to beg, borrow or steal this... although I will pay for it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Les

I have the Marine Corp seal and will post to free files section this evening. You will have to judge if the resolution is sufficient for you needs. I made a carving for an ex marine with name, seal, etc. and reduced the poor guy to tears. Very satisfying....

Chris,

Thanks for the quick response.

Tony or Brian. I can't open this file. Says it was created by a newer version 3.026 and I have 3.023.

Have I missed an upgrade????

What's up guys??

Here's the file in the current live version of the software. The other version is still in testing and hasn't been released yet.

Hi Les,

Brands of the World have a vector file which can be downloaded free at http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/search/ ... rine+corps

It looks as though it has been digitised so the text isnt great, but I've seen far worse too :D

Cheers

Brian

Thanks to everyone for the 2D info. I've taken what you've given me and have contracted with James at Carve3D to do a 3D version. I will post it in a few weeks when we get it started.

Thanks again,

Les
