Hello everyone. Using Vcarve Desktop with UGS. For some reason I will be in the middle of a pocket and then the Z axis drives all through the depth. If someone could look at my paths
first is 0.2 pocket 1/4 endmill
second 0.96 1/4 endmill
Then 0.1 90 vbit but I can never get past the second 0.2 pocket.
I've included my files paths. Any assistance will be greatly appreaciated as these are for a friends dad.
Thank you
Need help please

Re: Need help please
It is unlikely to be a problem with your gcode, much more likely this is a machine issue rather than a software issue, static can cause all sorts of problems like this, do you have dust extraction & is your dust hose grounded?

Re: Need help please
Are you setting your Z at the proper location e.g. Material surface, machine bed ?

Re: Need help please
The G code is fine. You can use a tool such as NC Viewer to view the code. But even simpler than that, if you don't see the issue in the VCarve preview then the problem is not coming from the G code. As others have mentioned, you are dealing with a machine issue where it is likely losing steps. Check for loose connections, mechanical binding, static interference, check your feed rates, etc.

Or you may have unknowingly/mistakenly saved a bogus toolpath thinking you had re-calculated the toolpath before saving but didn't actually do a re-calculate before saving to post processor. It happens to all of us at one time or another.

I thought that too so I recreated the the project twice with the same result...(idk) I'm going to go look at my Z axis equipment and try to figure it out. Thank you for your inputsharkcutup wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 9:49 pmOr you may have unknowingly/mistakenly saved a bogus toolpath thinking you had re-calculated the toolpath before saving but didn't actually do a re-calculate before saving to post processor.
