Moulding toolpath help

Post by Aussie »

I am using this toolpath for a dish, does the tool cut inside or on the vector?
Do I need to allow half the tool diameter if cutting on the vector?
Thanks

Which vector would "the vector" be: the drive rail or the moulding profile?

If it's a closed vector then the moulding toolpath cuts on the outside of the drive rail. If it's an open vector you can cut on either side by changing the direction of the rail. It is possible to use the moulding toolpath on a dish cutting inwards by cutting the drive rail so that it's an open vector. It's best if you do it in an area that has the least amount of curve.

Can you please take a look at my file and point out any problems that you can see, I need to offset the holes for the "handle" mounts so they are in the center.
I am totally new at the moulding toolpath so any suggested we be appreciated.

Thank you

This should get the holes pretty close to center of Outer Pan Lip.

Move holes 10.4 mm from outer Profile Vector will center the holes to the pan outer lip.

Provided this is what you mean to have centered. If not could you draw an image and post?

The current holes are centred between two lines. But, the inner line is not the line at which the current moulding toolpath is using for the rail. Can you use the either the other moulding profile or the line closer to the holes as the rail?
