Vector validator can’t repair issue

Post by jg2259 »

Hello,
I have a project that has an issue with vector validator. I repaired 15 issues by going into node edit mode. But there are still 2 that I can’t repair. When in node edit mode, I go to the area that shows a problem, but when I look at it, there seems to be nothing to repair. I’ve gone thru every possible way to fix the issue, but no luck. Is there something I need to know if this happens?
Thanks.

Jim

Depends what the error is really. Generally the hardest ones to spot are overlapping nodes. Go into node edit mode and drag the node where the VV says the problem is. Chances are there is another node directly underneath creating a hard to spot loop.

Yes, when I do that and try to delete the node, the whole vector disappears on each node.

Can you post your file (copyright permitting)? Or even images of your problem issue?
This will help eliminate a ton of wild guessing!!!

It would be nice to have Either of above in previous post to add to my database of Vector Validator Issues. This problem issue data along with other issues noted by the Vector Validator database can then be used in a video which I can add to my YouTube Channel (Sharkcutup CNC)

If you have an overlapping span with a single node it can't exist with no nodes therefore it's removed.

There are lots of techniques such as the curve fit tool and offsetting by tiny amounts to correct issues but, as Sharkcutup, says it's all guesswork without seeing what your exact issue is.

I’m trying to figure out how to send a picture of my project. I’ll send as soon as I figure it out.
Thanks for the responses so far.

Use the Windows Snipping Tool to capture and save an image to your computer. Then attach image to your post using the attachments button at the bottom of your post.

Shameless copied from Randall:

Windows has a built-in snipping tool for taking screenshots and saving the image to a file.

The saved image file (png or jpg) can be uploaded as an attachment here. You can even draw highlights and annotations.
