Re: Replace a model in VCarve
Is it possible to replace an imported model in VCarve? I'm tired of starting a new file and redoing all the toolpaths and set up after I adjust the model in CAD. It's taken many iterations of the model to get it right. I recall that I could delete a model when working one sided, but this is a two sided model. I delete the model on each 2D side, and also delete the model in the modeling tab, but I still get the message that VCarve only allows 1 model at a time.

Working ok for me. Are you sure you deleted absolutely everything on both sides? I just deleted everything via the modelling tab only for both sides.

You ave to delete the limit plane too.

Deleting the limit planes did it. This should make tweaking the model much easier.

Re: Replace a model in VCarve
You can re-import a model (see image attached) and try different settings to get the model imported the way you want it.by giametti --- Is it possible to replace an imported model in VCarve?
RightClick on Model Name/Title in Modeling Tab -- Select Re-Import.
Just a Thought!!!

Re: Replace a model in VCarve
I found something interesting about Re import last week, if you manipulate the model too much the Re import option goes away.
Re-Importing
Once a 3D Model has been imported then provided it has not been changed significantly it is possible to re-import the model to adjust the size, position, and slicing plane of the imported model. To re-import right click one of the components for the imported model in the component tree and select reimport.

Re: Replace a model in VCarve
Thank You Scott!!!
I have not ever had that happen to me but then again I have not had to re-Import all that much either. It is good to know and it does make sense because anytime you manipulate the model to much it could very well loose its parameters/details.
