Laptop for Gecko g540?
Will an IBM t42 laptop be good enough for driving a Gecko G540 controller? I´ve been offered to buy one with a paralell port.

The G540 uses a 25 pin parallel port to interface to the computer. You would need a motion controller to go between the computer and the G540. As far as the computer it would be ok.
