How to draw a V shaped slot.

Post by barrettam55 »

I am trying to create a dice tray where 4 dice are resting on an edge (not a flat side.) My original drawing used a rectangle and was cut using a V-carve bit. This is fine for the top and bottom of the slot but I cannot have the angle on the ends - they need to be vertical cuts on the ends. Any suggestions on how to draw the slots as a V cut instead of rectangle? (Using the latest VCarve Desktop program.)

Not enough information for a reply. Otherwise, just guessing. Actual file, drawing pictures?

You will need to use something like a moulding toolpath and a small ballnose bit. Can't do it with a v-bit if you want it square on the ends.
