Wouldn't this be better asked at NextWave's forum? Try this: frequently asked questions see under "Firmware & Software Registration".

I have this rule about updating software:

If everything is running good, do not update. . . . UNLESS:

There are features that I would like to use in the update.

Absopositively!!!! I have skipped all the fun of upgrading I read about here!

Seriously, since I do not use Aspire in full on design mode there is not much reason to upgrade. And then there is the fact that I am never in a big sweaty hurry these days, sooooo. . . . I just turtle along all happy.

I believe it was Bruce "Tog" Tognazzini ( 'Apple employee #66 ' ) who did a test some years ago where he started his Apple II (from 1980) and load his word processor then did the same for his latest desktop Macintosh and found they loaded in the same amount of time.

I agree with the previous posts, why update. I have not updated any of my Nextwave software because the machines are working fine. If you search around you will read about some Shark upgrade nightmares.
