saving toolpath template

Post by NewCNC »

I have created and tested a perfect group of paths (about 12 with various tools and setting). I'd hated to have to set them up again. I need to save the toolpath template because the next batch of parts are identical except for length. In the past I've clicked "save toolpath as template" and I'm prompted for a save location. Now I click and nothing happens. I checked where the file came from hoping it defaulted to that folder but it's not there.

It's like the button is inactive. Ideas?

I tried several times with no luck. I went out and came back in and it now works?

Go figure. If you have any ideas why it wouldn't previously please share...

That is the problem with not having an on screen progress bar.

In creating the Toolpath Template the computer is generating ALL those lines of g-code for 12 Toolpaths SOOOO it may take a while. Sit back and wait or do as you have done get up and stretch those legs.

You also must have the Toolpaths Selected as Visible (computer cannot read minds - not yet anyway) to create your toolpath template.

There are two save toolpath as a template options. One is for the selected toolpath (highlighted) and one is for visible toolpaths (the check boxes). Both do nothing if you have no toolpath selected or visible toolpaths respectively.
