Vcarve pro backup

Post by Nightowl »

Purchased and downloaded files into downloads folder on windows 11. Went to copy them on thumb drive for backup in case my computer crashed. But it wouldn't copy with all the properties to the files. I have never encountered this before. I want to back up the software before installing. I would appreciate any help on this, thanks

I am not clear what you mean. Are you getting an error message?

FYI, you can always (re)download the files from portal.vectric.com

I'll take a screen shot of the message tomorrow when I get home and attach to reply for you so you can see what I'm talking about. I do have a nother question that you might be able to help me with so I can install my software. Do I have to unistall vcarve pro trial before I install my purchased version of vcarve pro.

You're probably copying to a FAT formatted drive from an NTFS drive. You will get a warning that some file properties can't be copied but you can ignore that.

You don't have to uninstall the trial but there's no point in keeping it really.

While it never hurts to back up software the latest version of the software you have purchased is always available for download from your portal account
Not sure if you have to open any files created with the trial edition in the licensed version before uninstalling the trial version, Might be worth checking that before uninstalling the trial but as Adrian has said no point keeping it now you have a licenced version
