Any clues on surface texturing

Post by Goodoil »

Hi all
Im quoting on a oval sign in releif when I do the preview of the texturing the router bit also hits the wording as well as the border making the lettering and border choped up a bit the only way around it I can see is to offset all the vectors but how much? or is there an easer way? I thought it would allow for the Dia of the cutter. I can't see any thing in the help menu for this

Hi Paul,

The maximum offset only needs to be the Radius of the Ball nose cutter being used for the texturing.

You can often get away with a slightly smaller offset, but you MUST check the Preview carefully before running the toolpaths on the machine. Also remember that the texturing toolpaths are random and will change slightly every time a toolpath is recalculated.

I hope this helps and good luck with the project.

Tony
