Moulding Toolpath

Post by tander9 »

While trying a Moulding toolpath for the first time, the swept profile 1 toolpath cut started too deep and I had to stop the operation. I am not sure where I am going wrong

You don't need the vertical legs on the profile. They are causing the bit to start and end all that way at the bottom of the material.

That seems better, yes, although you still have your 1/8" ballnose plunging into nearly 1/4" of material at the beginning of the cut. Depending on the material and the bit, you risk breaking it. You might want to consider running Profile 4 first to clear away some material before starting the moulding toolpath.
