Thinning paint

Michael Tyler's "Lovebirds Arborglyph!" calls for a "thinned brown paint as a glaze" on page 3 of the pdf of instructions. Is this brown paint thinned with water?

Yes, I used acrylic brown craft paint and thinned it with water.
