Job orientation

Post by jcatcmc »

Hi, This is probably looking me in the face, but how do I rotate drawing with design 90 degrees ( making X axis the Y axis ) ( VC 10.5 )

1. Re-orient your workpiece; i.e. swap length and width.
2. Select All.
3. Hit '9' until the selection is oriented correctly.
4. Hit F9 to center on workpiece
5. Done

Hi John,

Something I do before rotating is to draw a rectangle to the exact size of the material and press F9 to center it.

Then, go through the steps Gerry outlined above. Only two presses of the number 9 (or the zero 0) key will rotate to your 90-degrees. Then, one press of the F9 key will center everything enclosed by that rectangle (including the rectangle).

F9 will centre whatever you have selected within your material block, if it didn't appear to do anything then your design may already have been centred. Did you make sure you selected everything as gkas mentioned ?
