Scott,

First, glad you’re going Green with Greenshots instead of the greenhouse gas producing Screenshot, lol, that tripped my brain for a few seconds!

This is an important post. The adage of Garbage in garbage out still exists. With all the power of previewing the cut you are just not going to see the effect of this type of input error until you do the type of cut that will expose it. In a way you were lucky it happened on the first cut you made and it was so noticeable. If you had cut 20 pieces where that didn’t matter, and then it happened, it might have been a lot harder to find the error.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks to me showing on the previous page how Important it is to watch TBN side angles,
and how the difference between 5.09 degrees on SyTools, and 5.12 degrees on SpeTool .25mm TBN,
can MUCK up a cut!!!
Just went into my Amazon 2020 account and found 1mm and 1.5mm .25 shank TBNs were the same,
BUT the Spetool .25" shank .25 mm TBN is 5.2 DEGREES, and not SyTools 5.26 degree.
2020 3INCH SPETOOL .25MM TBN SPECS.jpg
Database now amended for Spetools, BUT everything I cut with .25mm SpeTool TBN
Could have had MORE detail, and preview was wrong!! :(
When buying from a different manufacturer....CHECK your side angles!!
(Shaman, Big Harley, etc. could have been Better! Heartbreaking!!)

Would have saved at least the cracked Tiny Harley on the previous page.
10.1.21 MOM'S HARLEY .15 DEPTH MUCK UP TDB AND REMOVAL.jpg
Reminds me of first time I ought Drillman1's .125" shank "VBits" and entered as VBit....
THEN ordered as 5 packs of singles and ran across "Unless mentioned as a "Sharp" all flats are .012"!
Still have some small tip Engraving bits as a VBit for special cuts,
but for good preview run accurately as Engraving bits!

(Oh..never run under a microscope Shark, but do use 10X loupe to check bit edges,
AND did Once use a magnifier to tie knots in unstranded fishing line on an Opal bead so it would Not pass through the 18K, but would hang right in the River Red Gum frame.
Breezes/breath/light taps still spin that around on Mom's mantle:)
A "Fly Tier" I will never be! :)

Sunday am is coming WAY to quick! :)
But have first layer of Tiny's corded up and polished:)
What is it chefs say....."It's all in the presentation".
(four more layers to go)
10.8.21 MOM'S TINY HARLEYS FIRST LAYER 1.jpg
10.8.21 MOM'S TINY HARLEYS FIRST LAYER 2.jpg
Also she agreed to bring the Big Harley, BUT was freaking someone would tip it over!
She said "Everybody ALWAYS wants to take it off the mantel and touch it!"
(It was kinda tippy:(
BUT she didn't mention it till 4pm Monday!
"Can't you make a stand for it...look at all the wood you have!"
Kind a rush job, but tilted the Birdseye(same board as the Harley) 3.5 degrees, and cut with a 1.5mm TBN with a 3. (?) degree side angle, and kinda snuck up on depth and dimensions.
It can now tilt forward or backwards on her mantel without falling over.
Also used a lazy susan so she can display either side.
It'll be directly behind the Tinys so people can get context on why they're getting a microscopic version:)
Back to polishing and cording the other 4 layers.

Thanks guys!

Hopefully they'll be well received, but bringing a "Repair Kit" with me to fix things like;
Getting coated with melted ice cream/cake frosting/ or heaven forbid, getting dropped in a toilet! :)

Leo,
And to think the very first blank was Just fixed to the HDO the day you visited.
September third till right now just kinda "Disappeared"..and it's my favorite time of year outside!

Trying to figure out a price in my head if anybody asks "Can you make me ******?"
"Sure I can...only $200 each." :)

Funny, got all 5 layers done and closed the lid of the gem display case...and it's HEAVY!
Shouldn't have been surprised as when I started I Knew how much 5 Bloodwood blanks weighed.
Did nest(place) them close together, but still surprised me when I lifted the case:)
I think I'll avoid telling people Bloodwood usually sinks in water...
OR there'll be lot of people trying to fish them out of water goblets with forks

Thanks again!
scott

Oh...so far only .25mm TBNs from different manufacturers seem to vary in side angle.
BUT worth checking all new TBNs to avoid problem I had.
