Looks to me as though the v-bit you're using doesn't match what you've told the software it is. Either the angle, sharp/flat tip or both.

I would guess that you've set a large stepover with a flat depth?

Yep, large stepover with a flat depth is most likely. Didn't think of that as I never use flat depth with v-carve toolpaths and stepover isn't used in that case.

The stepover for the flat might be a contributor but most of the letters don’t have a flat. So I would lean toward a mismatch between what the bit is and what tool database entry says that it is. I would expect that it is an engraving bit that has been entered as a v-bit.
