Drilling

Post by TrueBrit »

Hi,
Im trying to drill two holes for dowels so I can carve both sides. For some reason the bit does not drill the depth that I set for this function, it only goes about a .250. I have added screen shots of both, hopefully some has come across this before.

Regards
J

After you run the toolpath is your z zero position the same? One option could be that you are losing steps on the z axis trying to plunge to quickly for the machine. On the same note have you checked the bit is tight in the collet & not slipping?
What does the toolpath preview look like? If that shows everything to be correct then the problem lies else where

Does your controller have a low limit or boundary?
