Color Coding

Post by JMOlshefski »

Two basic questions that I yet to figure out:
Is there a way to change color of object, I am using some 1/4" holes with screws into spoiler board as "hold downs" but want to show
them maybe as red?
Any simple way to add text for "notes" or do I have to use the "Vector Tools"?

Thanks
joe

You can assign a specific color to a toolpath in the toolpath preview screen.

With the notes it depends on where you want them. If you want them on the actual drawing then you would have to use the Text Tool and, ideally, place them on a Notes layer so they don't get picked up by any automatic toolpaths you might create.

However there are multiple places in the software where you can enter notes for reference. These include against the job itself (Edit menu, Notes), against a toolpath (double click the bold Toolpaths text at the top of the toolpath to bring up the toolpath manager or use the Summary icon), against a tool in the tool database and against a tool via the Edit button in the toolpath.

If you're VCarve Pro (rather than Desktop) those notes can be output into the job summary sheet. In both versions they can also be output via the post processor to be displayed on the screen of your controller PC.
