Copy a bitmap to word document?

Post by hlanfear »

I cut out carving blanks on my CNC and would like to copy bitmap to a word document for an actual carving pattern to glue to the cut blank. I can (apparently) copy the bitmap but it will not past to any other document. Does anyone know a way to do this? Thanks much in advance.

Open Word and import the bitmap directly.

I suspect that what you are trying to do is to print a full size paper pattern from a VCarve design.

You can export the file as a PDF, and then use an Adobe program to print it full size. You can even select "Poster" to print it as tiles if the object is larger than your printer paper.

Note: The "Print in greyscale (black and white)" box should have been checked.

If you are looking to print these at actual size to glue to the blanks then you would be best using the method Mike has discribed using something like Adobe reader which has a free version, not sure it would be the right size if you were able to paste the copied bitmap into another software.

Mike I could print your example without having to tile it

Thanks to all for the thoughts. I should have mentioned I did also export the bitmap to a pdf file, but when I tried to print it, all that showed was a blank page. Will look in to it further, at least I know I'm on the right track. H

Don't export bitmaps to create the PDF. Use the PDF option on the File/Export... menu.

If I export the entire file, the vectors export perfectly, but the bitmaps don't show up at all. Apparently, I'm missing something; any thoughts? Thanks much.

According to Help-Help Contents-File-Exports vectors [only] are exported. You could do a bitmap trace and export those vectors to a PDF file.

If the bitmap has been brought into VCarve it would imply that it exists outside of VCarve. Could that file not be printed to size by sone other program?
