Tool Path For Clip Art

Post by NCGuitarBuilder »

Hi All,

I'm new to the vCarve world coming over from other software. Anyways I am trying a test piece where I select a piece of clip art and change the property to recess into the wood rather stand out. I select a finishing tool path and it wants to cut over the entire 8x8 piece of wood. It wants to take of about 1/8" from the area around the clip art as well a carve the clip art as it should. I must be missing something somewhere. How to I get it to just carve the clip art and leave the rest alone?

Thanks!

Use the Create Vector Boundary Around Selected Components button on the modeling tab to create a boundary around the component. Then select that vector and on the Finish Machining Toolpath panel, click the radio button for "Selected Vectors". This will limit the carving to the area inside the vector.
