Need help with my logo

Need some help with creating the tool paths for my logo. When I try to input the photo and have it traced I just get weird pockets of engraving. Appreciate any help.

You need to share the file or individuals have no idea what you are trying to achieve or how you are trying to accomplish it.

Perhaps you might look at things from the other end of the chain. Rather than start from the image (JPG being horrendous to work with) being converted to vectors how about starting with the file, probably vectors, that created the image?

did a bitmap trace (black and white) from the posted image and got what I consider to be a quite satisfactory image. the Fitting curves to Vectors tool made it even better. The vector valicator tool did show some overlaps that needed to be fixed. .Note that if you don't fix overlaps, the VCarve toolpath can go crazy. Also the pattern on the side involves some very fine gaps that only a VCarve toolpath with a sharp bit will give you a decent picture
